In a bizarre partnership that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "An unusual meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of prohibited rituals and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine cult.
The adventure concentrates on "strange tests and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Transformations
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Extra Material
Players who finish the mission will acquire an special katana together with numerous items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's third no-cost story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns.
